Introducing the
Southside Physical Therapy Team
James (Jamie) Chiapetta MHS, PT
Physical Therapist
Jamie has been a physical therapist with Southside Physical Therapy since 2001. After graduating from the Medical University of South Carolina in 1999 with both a master’s degree in Health Science and a bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy, Jamie has taken continuing education courses each year to further develop his skills as a manual therapist. He specializes in using “hands on” techniques to decrease pain, restore mobility to joints, decrease tightness with soft tissue, and improve function. He works with all orthopedic injuries and understands how to facilitate the healing process in a gentle and comfortable way. Jamie is originally from Connecticut and enjoys all the activities that Bend has to offer including skiing, mountain biking, fishing, and windsurfing with his wife, two sons, and dog.
Laura Goold OTR, CLT-LANA
Occupational Therapist
Lauras is certified both by the Dr. Vodder School and the Lymphology Association of North America to treat individuals with lymphedema. She regularly attends advanced classes including a lymphedema course at the Foldi Clinic in Germany. She uses manual lymph drainage and complete decongestive therapy – combining skin care, gentle therapy techniques, exercises, and compression bandaging or garments – to decrease edema. Laura enjoys hiking and geocaching with her family and three dogs along with playing flute in the Cascade Horizon Band.
Jonathan Sampson MCSP, PT
Physical Therapist
Jonathan trained at Bath School of Physiotherapy in England, graduating in 1987. He moved to the USA in 1991. Since that time his continuing education has focused on the treatment of spinal pain, headaches and sacroiliac joint pain. He uses many different manual therapy techniques to treat the joint, muscle and nerve dysfunctions causing the pain. He teaches self treatment techniques and exercises appropriate to the problems found. Although Jonathan specializes in spinal pain he is still proficient at treating many different orthopedic problems. Outside of physical therapy he enjoys spending time in his yard, working with and showing purebred dogs which is a passion he shares with his wife, Morag.
Morag Sampson MCSP, PT

Morag trained in England and graduated from the Bath School of Physiotherapy in 1986. She moved to the USA in 1991 with her husband, Jonathan. Since graduating, Morag has developed expertise in the treatment of neck and back pain as well as all orthopedic conditions and chronic pain. She utilizes manual therapy techniques learned both in England and the USA including muscle energy, myofascial release, craniosacral therapy, strain and counterstrain, mobilizations and trigger point pressure release. Morag also has specialized training in the treatment of TMJ, headaches, and sacroiliac joint pain. Morag enjoys many outdoor activities including hiking and cross country skiing. She is active in the Bend British Club and the local Kennel Club. Morag trains her dogs for obedience competition and shows in AKC events throughout the Pacific Northwest.
