Southside Physical Therapy Welcomes New Therapist, Colin Chapman

Southside Physical Therapy is excited to announce the addition of Colin Chapman, DPT, CSCS to their clinic. Colin holds certification as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist and takes a special interest in the treatment and training of overhead and advanced athletes. He will provide a wide range of treatments for issues such as joint pain, neck and back pain, upper extremity pain, balance deficits, post-op rehabilitation, and other conditions.

A native of California, Colin grew up surfing the beaches of San Diego, playing a variety of sports, and challenging his body with new types of physical activity. Wanting a career that combined his affinity for being active with his love of biology and the human body, physical therapy was a natural fit.

Colin earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from A.T. Still University after he received a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology from California State University San Marcos. He practices one-on-one, individualize healthcare that helps decrease pain, improve movement, and get people back to doing what they love with confidence.

While working with the Arizona Diamondbacks during his clinical rotation, Colin grew his knowledge of treatment for overhead athletes and advanced athletes. He learned the importance of taking a proactive approach by using preventive PT, also known as Prehab. This practice uses sports-specific exercises to create total body balance, which allows for improved performance and injury avoidance.

Though Colin takes a special interest in competitive athletes, he enjoys working with a variety of patients. Whether he’s guiding someone to recovery after an injury or helping an athlete reach peak performance, he takes great pride in being able to show his patients the potential their bodies have with the right manual therapy guidance and therapeutic exercise interventions.

"I’m excited to join Southside Physical Therapy and work alongside an impressive roster of therapists," says Colin. "I look forward to helping my patients achieve their goals in an environment that supports my philosophy of care and pursuit of continued education."
