New Physical Therapist to Join Southside PT

We're excited to welcome Hannah Carlsen to our Southside Team the end of this month. A native Oregonian from Newport, Hannah was a multi-sport athlete, a collegiate golfer, and an avid outdoors and water-sport adventurer. She is excited to move here with her husband, Brian, a Bend native. With their roots in the area, she may already be a familiar face to some of our patients and we look forward to introducing her and her skillset to everyone else soon.

Hannah is an experienced and diverse therapist with advanced knowledge in orthopedics as well as the role physical health plays in the aging process. She aims to help patients recover properly from injuries and setbacks that could otherwise impact their health significantly in later years.

Hannah works with patients of all ages and activity levels. Read more about Hannah below and call now (541) 388-2681

to schedule a session with her.

Hannah Schonau-Carlsen PT, DPT, GCS, CEEAA

I grew up in Newport, OR with a family who kept me active with land and water sports. I spent most of my childhood on the golf course and would go on to play at the collegiate level. During my junior year, I suffered a wrist injury, which, after receiving physical therapy, led to my most successful year. That experience shaped my interest in being a physical therapist and learn how to help others get back to doing the activities that matter to them. I graduated from the Physical Therapy School at Pacific University in 2015. I then completed a one-year residency at the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, AZ for my Geriatric specialization. Throughout that year, I learned from mentors how to put the textbook side of physical therapy into practical patient care that treats the whole person. My favorite part of being a physical therapist is getting to know my patients and I enjoy working with patients of all ages. Outside of work I love to golf, hike, kayak and bike. You can also find me enjoying a great cup of coffee or trying new restaurants. My husband is a Bend native and we moved here to spend more quality time with family. Graduate Degree: Pacific University School of Physical Therapy. Hillsboro, OR Certifications: Board Certified Geriatric Clinical Specialist (GCS), Certified Exercise Expert for Aging Adults (CEEAA) Specialties: Orthopedics, Geriatrics, Gait and Balance
